I can’t wait until autumn because the first “not so hot” day of the year means hungry bear season has begun! Sure you can always get it to go, but I believe Hungry Bear is best enjoyed when it is hot and fresh on their little tiny picnic table while people exiting the drive-through stare at you. The peanut butter shake is not to be missed! Come, see why this Ocala staple has survived the test of time

I had a chili dog and slaw dog from Hungry Bear for lunch. These hot dogs were both great and cooked fresh to order. Service is fast. Highly recommend.

My fiance and I ate here for burgers, fries, and a shake. The burgers were tasty, juicy, REAL old fashioned ground beef... Like the kind you got in an old school drive in with your grandparents in the 60's. The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They could school others on how to do it. We shared a small mocha shake, which was hands down the best shake I've had in decades. No atmosphere because it's an old school drive in with one window for ordering, and on for pick-up. BONUS: They will celebrate 50 YEARS in this same location in December!! Bottom line: Go today and get you some delicious drive in burgers and fries with a perfect milkshake, served by the friendliest folks around. Let's keep this one in business, folks.

Classic old school burger joint with good shakes. Drive through only with outside seating on one community table. Kind service.

Great little place I believe is completely underrated! Quick food and it was delicious! Had the mama bear, double cheese burger, fries & a sweet tea. More than enough food for a great price! Highly recommend!

When I'm not in a hurry, I love to stop through local places. Hungry Bear is definitely a local only type place, far off the beaten path. My opinion is that it is well worth it. Great hamburger on a fresh bun.

They have a pork tenderloin sandwich not exactly like being back in Indiana but it sure is good!
